Our Mission Statement
We’re in the business of sustainability.

Green Credentials
Our business impacts the environment, we want to make sure it is a positive one. Our clients, especially those with designer or architect backgrounds often enquire about our green credentials. Timber is unarguably considered to be the most sustainable building material within the construction industry. We align our principles of sustainability to the management and production of our products. Conscientious consumers are on the rise and everyone wants us to help them become greener. Choosing brands that have a positive environmental and ethical impact now plays a big part.

Our Ethics
As an importer and distributor, we are working in a global setting. Our company has a code of conduct and ethics in areas such as anti-corruption. We train our colleagues extensively and have renewal courses from our Q&Y Academy to ensure they are up-to-date with regulations such as UKTR, PCI DSS, GDPR and Cyber Security. We only work with factories that align with our core values. We constantly monitor, suggest and improve working practices and standards.

Responsible Sourcing
Our supply chains are regulated to ensure harvesting practices are legal. We encourage sustainable harvesting practices and support global forest governance. Our company has taken steps to ensure that they originate from legal sources. Not only do we vigorously inspect and keep records of harvest permits/felling licenses, transportation proof etc, but we also look at all areas of business operations such as labour standards, health and safety and environmental impacts.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint
We are conscious of CO2 emissions. Being an importer, we have taken steps to avoid the need of using a logistic model that is high in emissions such as road freight and air freight. By planning well in advance, we achieved 100% ocean freight usage to the UK port in 2022 (As of 18/10/2022). Maritime freight transport has the lowest CO2 emissions per ton. We also actively encourage customers to devan containers on their site, thus removing the need of having to palletise the goods in our facility and redeliver them back to customers. This is done by carefully designing how the container is stuffed so that our client can unload the goods safely.
We have also made joint investments with the factories to renew machinery for the modern high-precision production line. This not only increases efficiency and productivity which benefits our company but also reduces energy consumption thus making our product greener.

Improving Production Facility’s Working Conditions
We work with our factories and many of them now offer staff shuttle bus services to their workers. This further demonstrates the factory’s commitment to reducing harmful emissions. Our director has sampled the food provided to the staff in the factory and highly praised the quality of canteen meals and compared them to Michelin star restaurants. The staff restaurant is heavily subsidised by the factory and this echos our objective of improving the working environment for factory staff.
